I rolled into lighting design almost as a practical necessity: someone had to do it and I happened to be there. At this stage there wasn’t much design to it: I had limited means and very little time.
Initially I operated shows live, with faders and submasters.
When I started to get access to equipment that allowed me to program, I started experimenting with what that had to offer, and how I could still have some room to improvise during performances. Because no two shows are the same, so why should the lights be identical.
I love playing with timing and colour, trying to create something that has its own life alongside scenography and sound.
In 2025 I decided to throw video into the mix. Not in terms of projecting images but in terms of an extra source of lighting – an ever-changing living light source.
